This expert witness has over thirty-five years of industry experience in the design engineering, product marketing, manufacturing and management of battery and battery charger technology.  His focus has been on lead acid battery technology and was a member of the team that developed the revolutionary Gates recombinant technology Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) battery.  He has extensive technical engineering and manufacturing management experience supervising the start up of new manufacturing facilities and merging of battery and battery charger product lines.  One of the key areas of expertise he developed and expanded upon during his career is the application engineering of the battery.  Key to this area of expertise is the battery-charger interface.  He developed various charger designs and techniques and was an industry expert in the application of battery charger design to battery.  While the designs of the battery chargers developed by him were of the transformer design for power conversion rather than the lighter weight, smaller switched mode types, the regulation circuitry which controls the battery interface is the area of his expertise.
